Billiard Table
A billiard table is often the center of friendly gatherings,
both at home and at the pub. Billiards has been a continuously popular
pastime for people of all backgrounds for centuries. In fact, it’s
virtually unheard of to venture into a bar or pub and not see at least
one pool table, and thousands of people buy them for home every year.
The term “regulation” is a bit relative when it comes to
a billiard table. There are different regulations for each of the games
many governing bodies. However, as a general rule professional tables
are about eight to nine feet long, while most of the tables commonly
found in pubs are six to seven feet.
The cost of a billiard table can vary greatly depending on the construction
materials and the design. Tables that use a real slate surface are usually
more expensive than those that use a synthetic material. The type of
wood or composite used in the construction also affects the cost, as
does the ornamentation.
